She’s Not a Thrill Seeker.

She Went Anyway.

Her friend, however, was a self-identified adrenaline junkie.

So when her pal convinced her to give WildPlay Thacher a try, she agreed - even though seeing the Classic Adventure Course waiting for her did not exactly calm the nerves.

She got harnessed up, and started up the ladder despite her heart racing.

“I did the first two of the three (levels) and cheered my friend on for the last one.”

The staff gave her lots of encouragement while respecting her boundaries, and after two levels, she decided she’d reached her limit for the day.

Instead of forcing herself through a final level of the Classic Course, she decided to come back down to the ground, and she was completely fine with that.

“Even with shaky legs, I had a blast and felt proud for stepping outside my comfort zone!”

That might be our favourite part of this story.

She did not need to finish every course for the day to count. She tried something she genuinely wasn't sure about, figured out where her limit was and left feeling proud of what she had done.

And apparently those first two courses made an impression, because she finished by saying she'd like to come back and try all three someday….maybe even the Extreme Course!

For someone who is "definitely not a thrill seeker," that's not a bad place to end up.

Turns out, you don’t need to be a thrill seeker to surprise yourself.

That worked pretty well for these two.
