Play Cool. 6 Ways to Beat the Heat on your Outdoor Adventure. [Tree-top Tips!]
WildPlay Pros spend a great deal of time outside every summer (good thing we love the dirt!). That makes them experts in keeping chill as the temperature, and guests, start to climb.
Here are the Play Pros "Tree-top TIPS" for playing cool:
-
Go with H20
Whether you sweat from fear or physical exertion, there's no better way to replenish your body and mind than good old water. All our Element Guides swear by their reusable bottles that can be refilled as often as needed.
(Keep a cap on the coffee and tea. Caffeinated drinks may dehydrate more than help.)
-
Think Like an Onion - Layer
Tank, tee, sleeves, lining... pile it on so you can peel as needed. Early in the day, or in your adventure, you're likely to want a little extra padding. But as you unleash it, you'll be glad you prepared for temperatures to rise. And don't forget to top things off with a bandana - our Bungy Jump Master swears by the WildPlay buff to keep dry in the heat.
-
Take to the Trees
Wide canopies of leaves and needles provide terrific natural shade. Play-away, without your internal thermometer overheating!
-
Be"wear" of Fabrics
Breathable clothing will be a sigh of relief during hot summer days. Our clan members stay comfortable in porous cotton, fine-flax linen, and designer dry-fit fabrics. Check your label before leaving home, or check our Gift Shop for stylish new digs.
-
Have a "Tree-t"
Whether you pick popsicles or ice cream, a little frozen "tree-t" is a great way to cool your core temperature - and the ideal way to celebrate your adventure.
-
Bungy Jump
You may feel a cold sweat as you peer at the 150' drop from the Bungy Jump bridge in Naniamo; but we'll help cool you off with a water "touch" ;)
There you have it! Six ways we keep our cool at the Parks. Now you're ready for any sunny play day!
(P.s. It may not help you feel chill now, but wearing sunscreen will keep you from burning up later. Lobsters never look cool.)
